Meet the Community

Stewardship Begins with Relationship

The Earth Stewards Alliance is more than an organization. It is a growing community of people who share a commitment to the wellbeing of all life.

Across cultures, generations, professions, and geographies, our community brings together people who are asking similar questions:

  • How do we become good ancestors?

  • How do we strengthen the relationships that sustain life?

  • How can we contribute to a thriving future?

Who We Are

The Earth Stewardship Community includes elders and wisdom keepers, youth leaders, educators, artists, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, researchers, technologists, community builders, and changemakers.

Some are leading initiatives.

Some are supporting them.

Some are learning.

Some are teaching.

Many are doing all of these at once. What connects us is not a shared profession or background, but a shared commitment to stewardship. A belief that how we relate to one another, to the Earth, and to future generations matters.

A Community of Practice

We do not see stewardship as an idea.

We see it as a practice.

A way of walking through the world.

A way of making decisions.

A way of caring for what has been entrusted to us.

Within the Earth Stewardship Community, people come together to learn, collaborate, share stories, exchange knowledge, support one another, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen the relationships that sustain life.

The Stewardship Commons

At the heart of our community is a simple belief:

The future belongs to all of us.

The ecological, cultural, social, and spiritual commons that sustain life cannot be cared for by any one organization alone.

They require communities.

Relationships.

Participation.

Shared responsibility.

This is why we are cultivating the Earth Stewardship Commons—a space for people to learn, connect, contribute, and participate in the emergence of a culture of stewardship.

What Brings Us Together?

Care for the Earth

We recognize that human wellbeing and planetary wellbeing are inseparable.

Care for Future Generations

We believe today's decisions shape tomorrow's possibilities.

Respect for Cultural Wisdom

We value the knowledge carried within communities, traditions, and ancestral ways of knowing.

Shared Responsibility

We believe stewardship is not the responsibility of a few, but a practice that belongs to all of us.

Collaboration

We believe meaningful change emerges when people work together in service of something larger than themselves.

These faces represent only a small part of a much larger story.

The Earth Stewards Alliance is a diverse and evolving community of relationships spanning continents, cultures, and ecosystems. Built upon more than two decades of collaboration, trust, and shared purpose, our work is strengthened by countless stewards, partners, elders, youth, artists, educators, and community leaders around the world.

Together, we are cultivating a living culture of stewardship for the wellbeing of all life.

A Living Ecosystem

The Earth Stewardship Community supports and contributes to a growing ecosystem of initiatives including:

• Earth-Based Governance

• Earth Flow

• Arts & Activism
